Club Campestre San José Golf Course Maintenance Underway

At Club Campestre San José, we take great pride in the reputation our Jack Nicklaus Design golf course holds for consistent, superb maintenance. Toward that end, we are now aerating our greens, a process we undergo twice annually to keep the course in tip top shape. Aerification relieves soil compaction caused by foot traffic and mowing equipment. The process adds oxygen to the soil and encourages the growth of deep, healthy roots so we can maintain the greens at the optimal 3/16 inch thick. Adding sand to the soil helps keep the greens aerated as well, making it easier for roots to grow downward. Our greens will appear sandy for a couple of days, but will quickly return to their lush green color and be healthier than ever, for your golfing pleasure.
